2021
I was able to make several improvements to my gardens in 2021, and I continue to think of new ways to make gardening easier and more enjoyable.
This mostly means continuing to bring my garden areas closer to my house, so that it's easier for me to maintain them. But also making other improvements.

In April 2021, my husband, two children and I all painted our white picket fence, which we hadn't done for many years -- it was starting to look terrible in some places and a few pickets were even rotting and needed to be replaced. But it sure looked better when we were done! |

I put steel edging around the Yellow Garden, and also added some edger bricks that were leftover from another project. This has made this bed much easier to keep the grass out of. |

I realized in 2020 that I had a boxwood problem, Volutella blight. Thankfully, this isn't nearly as serious a problem as the dreaded Boxwood Blight, which I've been worried will get here and destroy some of my favorite garden areas, like my formal Herb Garden, above, the first garden area I made when we moved here. I had planted the boxwoods too closely together, and I had to remove every other one. |

My Paradise Garden continues to be my favorite garden area. Filled with flowers and located close to my house, it's easy to maintain -- even in bare feet! My husband and I sit outside after dark almost every evening on the bench at right and enjoy the fragrant flowers. It really is a most magical place. |
